I’ve come to appreciate over the years is that ornament shopping -- and collecting -- spans all seasons. Rarely do shoppers need to hear Bing croon or feel chillier temps to seriously shop for Christmas tree trimmings. Here at Beach Treasures in Duck, many of our ornaments have an appeal that expands far beyond the craftsmanship, touching a heartstring and representing special times spent on the Outer Banks.
Hurricane Dorian caused serious destruction…and the need is great and necessary to help people put their lives and livelihoods back together. Efforts to help our neighbors were put in place as soon as the storm left the coast, but unfortunately, the recovery won’t be nearly as swift. This is why, here at Beach Treasures in Duck, we are making a commitment every month to GIVE BACK to help our fellow OBX’ers.
Barbara's resin art is something truly special…bits and pieces, shells, and whatnots all rearranged into beautiful designs and objects to admire. An old frame or window now becomes a canvas that we gaze upon rather than gazing through. Something new is now contained in something old, displaying handiwork where before none existed.
Beach Treasures in Duck has been honored to be one of the selected retailers who sell N.E.S.T.'s signature gear -- adult ball caps, both short- and long-sleeve tees, and even a snuggly hoodie. And now...that gear is available online! When you purchase one of these items (whether you're shopping with us in Duck or online) 100% of your shopping dollars goes directly to this beloved Outer Banks non-profit working hard to protect and preserve the sea turtle population on the OBX.
With both an eye and love for his craft, Noah Snyder's pieces are the result of a process known as fractal wood burning…that when combined with acrylic paint, collide to create stunning art. Now, I know nothing of how to do such a thing but I can tell you that the pieces are as smooth as suede and the colors are vibrant and rich.
