If you like to take a little something home with you as a reminder of your time on the Outer Banks, you are not alone.
From the small to the sublime, Beach Treasures in Duck is filled with items that are perfect when you’re in the mood to reflect and reminisce about your Outer Banks experience.
Did you climb a lighthouse? There are several here! To our north, the Currituck Beach Light…and its sister, the Bodie Island Light, is to our south. Next stop…the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, a national treasure making its home in Buxton.
Or maybe you saw a wild pony? If you enjoyed a tour or were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of a herd…these descendants of wild mustangs roam the beaches north of Corolla and on Ocracoke. I chose the cover photo (above) because I just love this canvas from Outer Banks photographer, Mark Buckler – it’s the image I conjure in my mind when I think about the wild horses.
Maybe you combed the beaches…discovering shells and sea glass or simply enjoying some solitude and fresh, salty air. North Carolina’s Outer Banks is one of the most beautiful spots to visit – and those of us who are fortunate to live here are constantly reminded how the sea directs our daily lives…from the tides, the winds, and the wildlife that choose to grace us with their presence…
...and then look who decided to visit while I out on the Town Boardwalk!
At Beach Treasures in Duck we feature an array of talented Outer Banks artisans whose work captures these iconic places and experiences in art, ornaments, and photography. Whether you’re looking for a memento to give as a gift or a piece of original art to hang on your wall…what you choose will allow you to take a little bit of the Outer Banks experience home with you (and that’s far more long lasting than all the sand that you’ll no doubt discover in every nook and cranny).
Of course, there’s jewelry too…. but that’s something you can read about in our other BLOG, “The Treasure Trove” at beachtreasuresonline.com.
We love making the shopping experience fun and enjoyable for our customers – whether in person and even online! We invite you to browse our online store and should you find yourself on the Outer Banks, we hope your travels will bring you to Duck…wandering the boardwalk right in to Beach Treasures in Duck. Maybe you'll see a Great Blue Heron too!
